Player tracking display
« on: November 25, 2016, 10:26:06 AM »
Hey guys. I have a i game plus running game King 6.0. The player tracking keypad , display, etc are still there but not working. Is it possible to program some text into the display or is it more trouble than its worth ? Not sure that all of the boards needed are still inside. Someone disabled it all at some point. If anyone has a pic of all the guts connected and working maybe that will help me figure out if I have everything. Thanks!

Is there a Bally Mastercom box inside?  If so all you need to do is make sure everything is connected to it and connect it to the power.  To change the text requires an EPROM burner (the chip is inside the Mastercom box).

Ok that's a negative on the mastercom box. Looks like there are different versions of that box is there a particular type I need?

Need a picture of the panel that you have. Probably a Mastercom 250 will work. Programming is not intuitive on these though.

Mastercom 250 will work for that panel are there any cables left attached to it in the back of the panel? Specifically the ones that look like telephone cables. See what's back there with any luck you might have a fairly long one that you could connect to the mastercom. A few short ones between the display and the card reader will at least allow that to light up.  These cables are getting hard to come by and they are not telephone type cables.

There are two of those cables. One runs from the display to the keypad the other one from the keypad is just loose at the other end. They are both about 12 inches long.  So do I need one more of those cables? There is a guy on eBay selling the mastercom 250 for $30 obo.  I guess I will do a little more reading up on how much trouble it is to program the display.

The keyboard is really useless if your just trying to display a message so you don't have to plug a cable into it. (unless you are going to try and use the panel for Foster's TITO system using arduino). So two cables should be fine.

If the Mastercom 250 you get has a chip in it most likely the file will be encrypted and you will not be able to make heads or tails of the information. Some of the older ones the message was more or less in the clear and you could overtype your own message as long as you don't use any additional characters in the file area. (or you can pay someone to put a message on a chip for you.)

I read his add only thing wrong is it is not standard telephone cable the wire terminations are different. Depends how much he wants to program a custom message because you can get a mastercom with a power supply a lot cheaper. I would post here

It looks like he is including programming. And free shipping which is maybe $10 ish? Also obo so if I get it for $20 or $25 with programming and shipping that's not bad right?

Sounds like a fair deal. Rudy used to have power supplies for those cheap.
