IGT Game King Reset help
« on: December 09, 2016, 03:02:21 PM »
I have an IGT Gameking which had been running flawlessly. I turned it on today and got the call attendant message. I used the reset key and it showed a recoverable error to reset, hold internal reset button for 2-3 seconds and then the machine seemed to reset, All previous credits were lost. It accepted money fine, but the internal counters that are marked in, out and I forget the other just keep rolling and counting and dont stop. I am not sure what to do here?

So the counters do eventually stop. But when I play they start up and go much longer than they used to. I am playing 400 credits at a penny and it takes 2-3 minutes for it to count that. Somethings odd.

you had a ram error or loss of memory and the settings changed

your game is set to run credits on accounting units and not dollars likely it was reverse before. you need to edit this with a key chip. in the denomination settings (I dont think you can change this without a key) you can see the setting with out a key chip.

additionally if your good with hardware just remove the meter entirely. http://newlifegames.com/nlg/index.php?topic=13578.msg73156#msg73156

400 credits a cent.. damn man :)

To stop the annoying meters from running unplug the plug from the meters. Then place a jumper on the 9 & 10 pin witch will be the outer 2 wires Black/orange and brown/lite blue. I cut a paper clip down and bend into a u then tape up and tuck aside.

Perfect- I removed the plug. But from a completeness point, I have used key chips on other machines when changing things, but never a clear chip. Someone also said I could see what happened to the accounting denomination which I assume is in the menus that are accessible after turning the upper key. But I am not sure what I am looking at or what the setting would have been before. If its not a difficult thing, I believe I have the key chip that came with the machine. What number chip would it be? and do I need a clear chip first?

Lastly as the settings changed, does that mean it changed win percentages etc? and can that be changed without a key chip if it has changed?

Thanks for the help- no more clicking!! I also assume that this doesnt affect the machine negatively.

Doing the meter bypass does not hurt anything.  If you want to change game percentages, you need a key chip.  You should have one anyway, they are very useful and can be found for under $20.  Well worth the investment.
