WMS Williams Video / Re: BB3 standard operating temp.« Last post by sccarlso on Today at 03:33:39 PM »I don't think it's the ambient temp that's the issue. More likely slow/stopped/blocked fans so the CPU itself is getting too hot.
I'd take compressed air to the fans in the CPU box and cabinet and ensure they're spinning freely and pushing air. If not, replace. And ensure the vents for air in/out of the cabinet aren't totally clogged with dust. Mine were when I got mine and I cleaned them all out. 3
Bally Electromechanical / Re: Bally 742-A blowing fuse« Last post by jimliner on Today at 03:30:14 PM »Ok, that switch is on the door along with the coin in switch.
I would look for obvious sign of shorting at the switch. Usually the door switch has heat shrink on connections. Also look at wires to and from meter. You could disconnect the drop (cash box) meter and see it fuse is ok when switch is closed. I added a drop meter to a door. The wires can be routed by a plate. That's where they were cut and taped. If fuse doesn't blow with bottom door molex disconnected, you may want to check at switch on door. 4

So ones, the old hundreds, then everything else I have tried are those. Haven’t tried the large headed no color bills.

My guess is the "in" meter. Jim 7
WMS Williams Video / BB3 standard operating temp.« Last post by Newbooty on Today at 02:42:59 PM »So I got a new game yesterday and loaded it. This is the first time I have owned my BB3 in the spring. My garage stays about 90 degrees all summer. After about half an hour the machine rebooted. Then about every 20 minutes after over and over. I checked the cabinet temp. It was running between 94 and 97 degrees. This morning turned the slot on and it ran no problem and temp was around 78 degrees. Is there a max temp that we should not be running these at. I know in the casinos they got AC on all the time, but my garage not so much. Thanks.

SIGMA Reel Games / Re: Sigma 3 reel questions: Manuals, door buttons, keys.« Last post by Chris-socal on Today at 02:39:27 PM »Welcome!
I seem to recall asking the same question on my Sigma. As Mark said, I think it is to be an optics sensor, it shut those reels off when the door is open. Regarding those 3 key switches: The owner before me made the decision for me because they drilled them out thinking they were door locks. As such I had to replace all 3 no questions asked. I installed push buttons so the future generations wouldn't need to have 3 keys to deal with. Since one was accounting it is means you would surely have at least two keys because floor personnel do not have access to accounting info. If I recall the three switches are: Accounting, Previous hand, payout reset. If you really want to use key switches you would pull them and have a locksmith re-key, or buy new key switches. If you did the later you could use the same key for all. Keep us posted and send pictures of your machine. Those Sigma's are really fun to play. Chris 9
Bally Electromechanical / Re: Bally 742-A blowing fuse« Last post by newkid3 on Today at 02:02:13 PM » I did do some more testing today. If I plug the machine in with everything in it and everything hooked up but the door open the fuse does not blow. As soon as I push the door switch in the counter clicks over one number and the fuse blows. So it was 84033 before i pushed the door switch in. When I pushed the door switch it went to 84034 and the fuse blew.
Does anyone know what is tied into the door switch that could be shorted out? Wish I had a schematic for this machine. Thanks 10

I have an S+ with a WBA 12/13 BV. I’m trying to figure out what bills it accepts and what it won’t. So far, it takes some ones and none of the new bills. I found a couple old small head 100s and it will take one of those but not both. Just trying to see if this is an issue with the BV itself (needs to be cleaned, etc), and if it will accept the new bills or not. I see there are some updates that can be performed but I have little experience with slots at this point, so any help would be appreciated! Attaching a photo of the BV and MPU as well. |
