Bally e 2241 over payout
« on: February 10, 2017, 12:33:05 PM »
i have a Bally 2000 series that overpays.  The current P1 chip is not a Bally chip and may be this issue.  The machine is a 5 coin, 5 line.  When played, the payout matches the reels and pay glass.  I am reaching out to see if anyone knows where I can find a personality chip for this machine.  Thanks

Quite sometime ago I created a database and was allowed to place in on another members website

http://coinslots.com/roms.php

If you enter E2241 under the model number and then hit the query button you will see
several pages (5) listings for this machine. I did not see one specific to a 5 coin machine
but the base E2241 machine is a 5 line 5 coin machine.

If I may make a couple of suggestions to assist you and others that may offer help.

First, run test #6, this will show you the P1 program number, the chip may not be marked Bally
but may be a copy of a the original P1 program

Secondly, provide the full model number including the dash number. If you look at the database
you will see that different dash numbers use different P1 chips

I have seen overpay happen when the switch on the hopper exit is out of adjustment. The coin should trip the switch when its roller is at the 10 o'clock or 11 o'clock position. If it trips late, a coin could pass thru without the switch registering.

Also, check the BEAU connector at the base of the hopper; corroded pins can cause a bad connection which then would prevent the switch signal from getting to the controller.
