Game King Bill Validator / TITO Problem
« on: June 24, 2016, 10:36:28 AM »

I acquired two Game Kings about 3 weeks ago.   Machine “A” has a 044 processor.  Machine “B” has a 3900 processor.  Both “A” and “B” bill validators will take in currency with no problem.    “A” will only validate the tickets that were printed on “A”.   The tickets printed on “B” are not accepted by either machine and tend to get stuck in the bill validators.  I tried exchanging the BV’s and got the same results.  I would appreciate any help.

My guess is that "A" has a TITO board installed, and "B" does not.  It is an aftermarket add-on to enable the machine to accept tickets.  On the casino floor, the machines are connected to a backend server that validates the ticket, in a home environment this is not the case.  An additional piece of hardware is necessary for the machine to validate tickets (search for Bettor TITO on the site).  I bet if you look at the printed ticket from "A" the number on the barcode will be the same digits as the cashout amount.  The one from "B" has a totally random number that is really high.

Thanks, Rick

Yes the bar codes on the tickets from "A" match the payout amount and the bar code on the "B" tickets are random. I'm sure that TITO software was installed at Rocky Mountain slots before they shipped them.  I should point out that during shipping Central Transport caused the crates to dump over on thier  face causing damage to both machines.  I have replaced the broken glass panels, replaced one of the monitors and repaired some  other damage.  The  TITO problem may be the result of the impact.  But I'm not sure where to look other than I have checked for loose connectors.  How can I get to the connector that is behind the printer? Keep in mind that it does print a ticket with my name and address printed on it.

When you bought the machines, did you request to have TITO installed?  On the Gameking machines, the TITO board plugs into the serial port.  It is a little 5 pin flat connector that connects to the box where a flat ribbon cable is also plugged in.  Check the machine that accepts the tickets and you will see this little 5 pin flat connector that leads to a cable that is connected to a little 2  x 4 inch circuit, sometimes multi-level depending on the brand used.  If the machine that does not accept tickets doesn't have the same or similar setup, it will not accept tickets without it.  If it does have this same setup, then when the machine was setup, it was setup incorrectly  and you will need to change the SAS setting from standard to system in order for the ticket acceptance to work.  You could also ask the supplier of your machines if both machines were sold as accepting Tickets.  Did you specificaly ask for this feature, it is usually not included when a machine is sold.

Rick,

Thanks again for helping.  Yes, when I bought the machines I paid extra for the TITO option on both.  I believe the cable you mentioned runs from the back of the printer to a Netflex board.  The only difference I see between the two is that the one that's ok is plugged into "netlex 3" and the other one into "netflex 1".  I may have messed up the settings when I did a key chip to change the games. Not sure where to find the SAS settings.  Do I need to key chip it to do this?

Here's a few photos that may help.

It has nothing to do with your printer or where it is connected, it doesn't matter what netplex connector it uses.  You have the Bettor Tito Standard version.  Your picture shows it is connected correctly.  When you key chipped it, you probably did not setup the SAS correctly.  You will need a keychip to re-enable the TITO function.

You have the older menu system, but the TITO setup guide I made a while back should help you.  If not, I will make one up for your version of the setup menus.  Just look for the menu options that are similar.

Wow...that was quick!  I appreciate.  I will try to set up SAS per your recomendations.   :thank_you:

BTW for what it's worth.......here's some pictures of the damage that was done by the shipper.

Wow, been there too.  They just don't care enough.  My first pair of machines were S+.  One of them came with a broken belly glass.  The vendor sent me another belly glass, and it came broken.  In face it took like 3 tries.  Eventually he just sent me a plexi version.  I eventually got an original belly glass to use from another source.  But I've had so much broken glass over the years, it's really sad, especially since some of them were from rare games that I've not been able to replace.

Central Transport is the worst freight company we have dealt with by far.  We have had so much merchandise ruined by their carelessness.  We had an entire pallet that looked like it had literally been dropped into a swimming pool (no, I'm not exaggerating, the boxes were disintegrating).  Then after weeks & months of trying to get them to cover the losses they offered to cover only 10% of the damages that were 100% their fault.  Fortunately the shipper eventually covered our losses, I hope they decided not to do business with Central Transport anymore.

My opinion is that Central Transport is the cheapest but by far the bottom of the barrel for shipping your stuff.  They refuse to pay for any damage claims although it is obvious that the pallet with my two crated Game Kings was dropped on it's face. So far I have replaced three glass panels and one monitor plus three light tubes and several other assorted parts due to their negligence.

Here's some of their customer reviews:

Sorry to be so negative but I hope my comments might save others from getting into the same dilemma.

Here's the latest on my TITO problem:

I did a key chip again and tried to match the settings per Rick's diagrams although my 3900 MPU settings are different.  The results were the same, the tickets print with a random number instead of the $ amount.

Here's photos of my COMM settings...I must have missed something. I'll some more on the next post.

in your picture I can't tell this :

On the tito board - where the serial cable plugs in
Are there any lights blinking there?

If so nothing should be blinking anywhere.

Nothing blinking but a couple green lights and several red ones lit up.

Try enabling EFT transactions and System Bonusing and set SAS validation to System.  That should work I believe.

You have validation mode set to standard, it should be set to system.

Thanks again for helping.  I made the key chip changes per your advice and and wound up with the same results three times:  a "Validation not configured" message. Then when I push the MPU button it changes to a system failure message. My validation mode does not have a "system" setting but it does have an "Enhance" setting.
