S+ 5 X's PAY 61 loop

hi, Welcome, and thank you for your help. I'm working on an S+ 5x's Pay with a 61 loop. About 5 years ago we got Error code 12 to replace the battery. we never did it and it died. A few days ago i read several topics on this forum and watched Vids on how to do it. Did it, went smoothly. Turned the game on ...got a 61 Error code, held test til i got 61-1 closed the door and turned the jackpot key. It spun the reels and went back to 61 and is stuck on 61.. nothing will change it. any suggestions?

Others will say for sure, but you may have to use a CLEAR chip to get rid of this persistent 61 error. You don't want to do this unless absolutely needed because you will then have to setup a bunch of other settings and it can be a pain.

I was thinking the same thing, but I'm no S+ expect. I'm thinking since the battery was possible totally dead, you may need to do a clear.

I was able to get out of a 61 loop one time by changing the sp chip to a different number that was still for correct reel type.  Worth a try if you have any others.
