Hi Guys,
Interesting problem here:
I know how to clear code 61 on a reel S-Plus machine, by pushing and holding test and hold to code 61-1 and then closing and turning the J/P reset key. Here is the problem and it happened to me once years ago but forgot what caused this. You go to the test button to hold it down to clear the 61 code..... BUT, when you push the button down the machine chimes and the 61-1 code comes up instantly which is not right, this give the boards no time to share info and the chime is not right, this should never happen. OK, so you then have the 61-1 code close and turn the J/P reset and it just goes back to code 61 insted of getting the wonderful reel spin. So, what causes this??? I just can't remember what it was that caused this one time before, too many years have passed.
Thank You all

Others here will confirm, but I think that is the "error 61 loop" that the machine sometimes can get stuck in. The only solution is to use a CLEAR chip, clear the ram and that will clear the error 61. You will then need to redo your settings on the machine, plus use a SET chip to re-enable the bill validator if your machine has one.

Well thank you and that make since, and now I know what the dreaded 61 loop is! That is most likely how I cleared it last time I ran into this years ago, by just running a clear.
OK, I will not wast any more time on this and run the ram clear and set chips and be done with it.
Thank you for explaining this to me. Now it is confermined that I am a little loopie......
