Does it exist?
« on: September 02, 2017, 09:25:41 PM »
Hello group:

I have the bug bad and have since collected several Bally EM games and 4 IGT Fortune 1 machines.  I live in New York, a 30 year state so I had to look at the older games to stay on the right side of right.

I was wondering if anyone knows IF there is a coin operated roulette machine out there that falls in that age group?  Even if the game is newer than 30 years is there anything that is roulette based AND coin operated?

Any leads will be helpful.

Thanks so much
Ra

Ra,

They do exist.  I remember back in the late 80's Games of Nevada did make an Auto Roulette. It was done in a different department so, I don't have much experience with them. There are also a few European companies that made earlier mechanical ones. I know Whittaker Brothers made one in the 60's.

I think the fun part will be trying to find one. They just didn't seem real popular in the US market.

I had a Games of Nevada Auto Roulette some years ago. It was a great game to play. Mark Goodson "The Price is Right" game show producer now owns it. I have some photos of it somewhere. Bill.

63 & Bill:

Thanks for the reply.  Now I am one the hunt!  That game would be the last piece to my game room.  HOLD ON!  I am getting ahead of myself.  Was the game fun to play AND mechanically sound?  I dont need a 200 pound paperweight.  As it is I will have to sell one of my perfectly good Bally 809 games to make room for it.  Please advise.  Your opinions count a great deal.

BTW Bill Roger has been trying to get in touch with you about his games that he got from you.  Give the old fart a call when you have a spare moment.

I look forward to your thoughts.

Terrance,

The Auto Roulette game is fairly large. There was a story of a Game's employee who took a nap in one while on company time. The owner (Mickey) was showing a customer around. He then went to the Auto Roulette game that the employee who was napping in. The employee heard them approach and grabbed the top and held it down. Mickey tried lifting it and said "I guess this one is locked" and proceeded to the next game.

Is something like this too new...

Sorry, not a coin op...
I like casinos and I love slot machines
I lost a fortune, if you know what I mean
Those one armed bandits was the wrong thing to choose
A man with nothing ain't got nothing to lose

That story is funny as hell!  Must be REALLY big game.  That might slow me down a little.  I went to the coin op museum site but they did not have a picture.   The house sleeping beauty it must be a monster.

The Auto Roulettes were a console model. It's been many years but, I think the were around 3'D x 5' L. Might be a little less or more. I seem to forget more then I remember....  :Tongue_Out:

I will keep my eye out.  I also want a multi game entertainment machine.  Defender, pac man, Galaga, Space Invaders and such.  I learned a lot in my quest.  Horizontal games and Vertical games are not present in the same cabinet.  This means that I have to decide which games I want to play to the exclusion of the others.  Bummer.

Check out the web site for Arcade SD. The board is expensive compared to a standard 60 in 1 but I think that they combine both vertical and horizontal games on 1 board.

Chuck:

Thanks for the lead.  I checked the site.  You are probably right about the board.  I am no techy and I need a complete game in good cosmetic condition and I will pay a fair price.  I have bought games from several members on NLG over the years always with great satisfaction.  I have heard horror stories but Bill who chimed in earlier and the other that I have encountered have been gentlemen of the highest caliber.  God has ordered my step I suppose.

Have a fantastic Labor Day.  I always start my snow blower on this day. I used to be a boy scout.  Be prepared.

BTW

I saw on Pawn Stars that they bought a Japanese upright Roulette game for about $200.  I sent them an email but they never replied.  Perhaps I am small potatoes.

If you found a 60 in 1 game at a good price on Craigslist, you could replace it with the Arcade SD board. When I get the $ together I will do that to my cocktail arcade that has a 60 in 1 in it now.
