E-1000 Code 32 Hopper empty problem
« on: January 03, 2018, 05:16:37 PM »
Hi,
I am having a problem with a Bally E-1000 slot machine. It is showing a code 32 Hopper Empty. The hopper is not empty, nor are there any coins stuck in it. When a winner is hit, the hopper makes no attempt to pay out. The machine just times out, and the tilt light comes on. Fuse is good.  Another working hopper was substituted with the same result. Anyone have an idea as to what the problem might be? ??? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Jerry

If I remember correctly in the E1000 there is a hopper relay board mounted right next to the hoppers beau plug. Check to make sure that's plugged in.. Have you checked your hopper fuse with a meter? Are you using the same hopper board when testing the hoppers? Most times if I have this problem it's the hopper boards bad.. The diodes crack or the mac-15 triac is bad..
Please remember to make a donation to NLG for mine/our help in repairing your machines problem.. Your donations help keep this site on line.
And remember...
If it's jammed, force it.. If it breaks, it needed to be replaced anyways...

Try swapping the I/O board, there is a hopper enable circuit using a 555 timer on the lower left of the I/O board and if that circuit goes bad the hopper won't turn on.
Let them that don't want any, have memories of not getting any.

HI,
I swapped the I/O board and it payed out. So, the problem seems to be on the I/O board. Then I replaced the 555 timer on the bad board. Still no payout. any other suggestions?

It could still be in that 555 circuit. There is a capacitor in that circuit that also goes bad.
