Sigma Poker Up model B-12
« on: January 23, 2015, 05:54:48 PM »
I'm looking for a video poker machine. Came across a Sigma Poker Up B-12 says 1984 on front glass. Cord has been torn off from the bottom, guy claims it happened when moving it. (hmmmm) Anyway don't know if it works. Is there a schematic available for this machine, can I convert it to an lcd screen, what about computer board can it be repaired, are parts available? Or should I just keep looking? Any help and guidance would be appreciated, this will be my first video poker machine.

Wouldn't be my choice for someone's first poker game (or poker game project). Sigma is not, and never was, a widely popular machine. With this being said, parts, schematics, and help/advice in general will be difficult to come by. I would highly recommend you pass this one up and go with either an older IGT GameKing or Bally GameMaker machine. Either of which will have LOADS more parts, documentation, upgrade support, and knowledge available to you. I know it's hard to pass up what "seems" to be a good deal or an "easy" fix, but keep walking on this one...

Just some info on Sigma Games,

Sigma Game Inc.
Sigma Game Inc., is a privately held company based in Las Vegas. Sigma has a strong background of innovation and quality in the gaming machine industry, and is a leader in the manufacture, distribution and service of technologically advanced reel slot and video gaming machines.
Sigma did serve every major casino market in the United States and also serves the Caribbean, Central
America, South America and Canada. They maintain offices in Las
Vegas, Nev., Atlantic City, NJ., Germantown, Tenn., Green Bay, Wis.,
Kalamazoo, Mich. and Hollywood, Fla.
In 1984, Sigma became the first internationally owned manufacturer and distributor of slot machines to be licensed by the Nevada Gaming Commission. Sigma is licensed in every major gambling venue in the United States.
Sigma designed the first slant-top reel slot machine for more comfortable play back in 1990. In 1991 they were honored with the State of Nevada Governor's Industry Appreciation Award for its continued contribution to Nevada's growth. The Governor of Nevada gave them the award again in 1996.
Sigma is responsible for several other innovations that helped to revolutionize the gaming industry. They were first to have an embedded bill validator. This was a breakthrough that led to a significant increase in revenues for casinos that let their players use bills instead of just coins.
Sigma is also known for other innovations such as The Derby horse racing machine, the first coinless slot machines to be installed in a major casino, Patriot®, the first red, white & blue-themed game, and a patented locking cashbox extractor. The cashbox extractor features a design licensed to and utilized by two other leading slot machine manufacturers and offered by JCM to other customers.
In 1996, Sigma moved its corporate and manufacturing headquarters to Las Vegas near McCarran
International Airport in Las Vegas. This move doubled its manufacturing facility from to 80,000 square feet.
In 1997, Sigma introduced its SG-150 Plus reel slot model, featuring the new SG-88M hardware / software platform. This allowed casinos to easily customize sound packages, reel features and attract modes. The company also unveiled the Sigma Select Series, a lineup of games designed to promote longer play and enhanced casino revenue. The Select Series includes Treasure Tunnel® and Treasure Wheel®, games that combined to become the most successful product launch in the history of the company. The Treasure slots proved to be an overwhelming success. They were awarded a "Top 20 Most Innovative Gaming Products of '98" honor in a vote by a distinguished panel of industry experts.
In 1998, Sigma continued to build on the success of its Treasure Series, introducing Treasure Wheel® Double Jackpot and Treasure Tunnel® Bonus Poker. In addition, Sigma unveiled an innovative new slant top machine, the SR-3000, designed to be more comfortable for players and easier to service for technicians. Sigma also boldly entered the video slot segment of the market with Where's Henry® a Pentium®-powered 45-coin five-reel game featuring a colorful cast of country characters. Sigma's debut video game, utilizing the DPX-80 series video platform, garnered the company a second "Top 20 Most Innovative Gaming Product" distinction for 1999. Keeping with the tradition of superior product design, Sigma's follow-up release Throw the Dough® netted a third "Top 20" distinction for the year 2000.
Sigma is one of only a few manufacturers to hold an unrestricted license to use the Telnaes technology that allows for virtual reels and unlimited odds. The Telnaes technology enables Sigma to offer the ability to provide high-end payouts and progressive jackpots without limitations.

Do you have or know where I can get a Service Manual for a B09?

I have the Operations Manual but the machine doesn't work so I need s Service Manual.

I don't have a picture, the screen slightly flashes when turned on, and two of the red LED's on the main board are on.

Thanks
