I do love the Medalist too. Had a good one but sold it to a friend.... yes the price was right. I picked up a Super Continental yesterday, along with a pinball machine. Got it home, protected the top glass with triple thick and now have all the innerds back in and in a few minutes, will get my meter out and start checking. Seems to be very clean and there is a good chance I will have it up and running in just a few hours.
I love wiggling my way through the maze of machines to get to the front door.

Hi Mvco, It seems like  a lot of EM slot collectors like the Super Continental because of the many payouts options or the complexity of the machine? Please post  some pictures of both of your babies when you get a chance. Dave if I had the room I would love to add more slots like yourself, to have a pinball machine might even appeal to the wife's days at the arcade...how many pinball machines to you have?

I have 2 Gottlieb's, a Bank Shot and a Flying Carpet. Also I have 3 Bally pins. Original 8 Ball, 8 Ball Deluxe and an old gambling bingo pinball Beach Club. I am going to list the Beach Club on CL to make more room for the flipper pins.

very interesting since Pinball machines look pretty simple when your playing them, looking forward in seeing the guts when you get around to it

Here is a picture of an MGM 955 I have a matching set they are identical to Gary's 9:55
As far as penny  machine go when they changed the penny from All Copper in the late seventies early eighties they could no longer use a coin rejector due to the different weight so pretty much all penny machines were going away with at that point in time I do have parts to build one for my collection eventually
And what did you end up using to build your penny machine I remember you saying you wanted one

Hey Jon
I purchased a brand new US penny mech thinking I would have to screen the pennies that went in (or actually failed too).  What I found was it takes all pennies.  New and old.  I might talk to their shop guys next time I stop there.  Not far from work they assemble the mech's.

Hey BB,

Wife thought it would be good to have a penny machine.  She cleans out the change from her purse into the slots, no where for pennies.   Picked up a non working 956 for 200.  Real clean just "broke".   Got it working and converted from quarter to penny.

Bally made 801, penny star.  Model 846 penny queen.  Looking over index list, 742a-209 came from bally as a penny machine and a handful of 785's.
Probably a few more models but not many.

Fine machine. How high is the maximum payout?
Remind me of the 809.

Jackpots of 400 or more coins = 200 paid by machine, balance paid by attendant.

Hopper level is set at about 1200 coins.  Pennies, nice, 12 bucks to fill hopper initially.

That's a lot better than a 25 cent slot which takes $200 + to fill the hopper

Yes it is nice to have a wife that supports your hobby. Sometimes I wonder if the old saying about happy wife , happy life should be changed to
happy life, no wife!
