I just got a used GK. i was told the 19''monitor didn't work.if i turn it on at night i can see a black glow..the fans kick on and candle is flashing,none of the buttons in front light up..i'm not sure if its the monitor or the board..any help would be apreciated

Your monitor might need a new video board. If it has power to it and it glows that means the power supply is working and the inverter is turning on the backlight. But it's not getting any video out. Try ordering a new video board from the manufacturer of the monitor itself.

Is it a CRT or LCD?
Have you fiddled with the controls yet? I had one with a "broken" CRT monitor and it was a dirty brightness control.
Have you tried playing the game just to see if it does anything?
Backlit bulbs?

It is lcd touch screen.
I call the company tomorrow ( casino tech) and see about a video board

If it's an LCD it should have an onscreen menu system. Press the menu button, if an menu appears on the screen you may have problems with the MPU board or wiring.

I push the menu button nothing happens. But if I disconnect the video plug it say no video

If you can read the words no video, then your monitor is ok and the problem is somewhere else. Have you checked to see if you main board is plugged in?

Yes, I have checked. The little ledâ€™s go right to a greenish yellow. The candle blinks. No light on the front push buttons but if I push service that light button will light up.

Your button lights will not light up till the game boots up. The candle flashing is normal. How long are you waiting for this game to come on? These games can take minutes to boot up depending on what games in it.

Probably 10 min. Nothing on screen just black. This is my first GK so Iâ€™m at a total loss for what it could be.
I got it cheap 300 but had to drive 6 hrs to get it. So hoping in something simple.

Start posting some picture of your MPU Board and of the machine. Pictures will tell us things sometimes faster then just giving us the problems..

Have you checked to see if your. Artery is dead on the MPU board. I'm not sure if that would not allow your machine too boot up. It should have more then 2.8V. New ones have 3V+. If new need a new battery make sure to install a battery holder. That way the next time there is no soldering involved. If your not good at soldering, find a local battery store. They will usually do it for a small fee.

you probably have a bad cap on the power supply to the display. replace the C105 capacitor (47UF 50V) near the main heat sink. id have to pull a schematic because i cant recall the details, but it causes either the 5v or 12v to be about half . you could use a PC power supply to test the display. that what i used until i fixed the power supply.

That's for that information. Sure a lot cheaper fix then buying a replacement LCD Monitor.
