i have several S+ and S2000 machines that are on battery backup systems and they are played not often Maybe once ever couple of months ..the battery are new in all the machines..we are now in storm season and I will not leave them on..are they still getting some power to keep the battery charged..I know if you unplug a computer the the motherboard battery will drain after ..I have gotten machines that were left unplugged and killing the battery, because they were told not to leave them plugged in if there were used not that often...thanks

The machine power does nothing to charge the lithium cells, since there's no charging circuit in an S plus or S 2000.
The cells should last for many years as well. Unplugging them shouldn't kill the battery under normal conditions.

Thanks for your help..what about the netplex battery

Thanks for your help..what about the netplex battery
Varta batteries should be removed to avoid any leakage, they are not needed in home use.
-
I did that before and the dreaded netplex /no disp showed up and was dead in the water
-
Most of us remove the varta battery to prevent the corrosive leaks. I don't think I've ever read of anybody having issues after removing the battery, unless traces were broken during the removal. Also if you have an enhanced mpu, there are other components that need to be removed as well.
-
I have the enhanced..it strange I have 2 s2000 machines and one has the battery and the other does not and there boards are original..
-
Yes, that is correct, there are enhanced boards that did not come with the varta. Have a look at the varta removal thread. You have to remove regulator at U16 as well.
