Title: Sigma CRT to LCD conversion
Post by: Dreese on November 23, 2020, 08:26:45 AM
I'm battling an intermittently working CRT.  I have checked connections several times and can't seem to find anything lose.  Now the question is to replace the board or go for an LCD upgrade.  Any thoughts?

Well, flat screens are all the rage these days. Give it a try.

Well, I finally got the VGA conversion board and arcade power supply from Amazon.  After converting all the Chinese menus to English I kept getting a "no signal" message on my LCD monitor.  When I checked the RBG sync and ground harness on the board I found out that I have no power coming off the pins.  Now I realize that the CRT was probably never the issue in the first place.  At this point I'm going to continue with the conversion.  Any idea why the video output harness has no power?  Do I need to replace the board, if so, do you know where I might find one?  See board pics above.
Thank you

I believe it's a B-88 board.  The only place I can find one online is from a place in China.  Really?

Can you post a link to the board that you bought? I have a few machines that have problems that I am not sure are due to the monitor or something else. It would be handy to be able to connect a VGA monitor for troubleshooting purposes.
