Title: Mei SC6602 on S2000 Triple Diamond Does Nothing. No Lights, Has Power-MM Tested.
Post by: mattw512 on April 05, 2023, 11:58:18 AM
Hello All,

I'm very new to the world of slot machine internals but have been working with small appliances, computers, and miscellaneous electronics (hardware and software) for 20+ years.

I have been able to get everything on this Triple Diamond machine to work, i.e. reels turn when cycling, lights come on when they should, display shows correct info, etc.; that is, everything but the bill validator. I've tested the boards on the thing for continuity at the various points where power is introduced to them and all checks out. I've also tested for power in the harness and it checked out as well. The validator just seems dead.

What's my next step?

Any help would be immensely appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

Matt

If there are no lights lit up on the validator after you power up, and you verified power to the harness, then you either have a bad head or bad interface board.  There's also a small possibility that the harness that is attached to the back of the validator cage is not the correct one for a netplex validator.  I have found bally harnessed validator cages on IGT machines that came from casinos.  Techs just put whatever they have sometimes to make a machine "parts complete".
