Post by: Bohill on May 27, 2023, 10:36:56 AM
I have a Version 6.2 Game King Keno. Had mb setup. When it was returned machine booted up,shows a Fortune Cookie screen but wont respond to anything.I turned the attendant key and now nothing but a flashing Attendant lite on top. If I unplug mavhine and plug it back in it will start flashing again. Any solutions?

What do you mean by had "mb setup"?

What does the screen show or say after you turn it on now?

I meant the motherboard was reset with a chip . I then got it back and installed it turned it on
It booted up but to a frozen slot screen. Now after sitting for a few hours it all of a sudden started working perfect but the candle is flashing and won’t turn off. Even after removing power and then repowering it the candle still flashes.
The machine is working as it should but no sound. I go into the setup and under sound it has empty boxes. Nothing to choose from .

Game king flashes the candle when you have printer enabled and non-casino settings.  I just unplug the candle.  Nobody is going to bring you a drink anyway. Sounds like you are missing the MML2 sound board and the sound simm for GK6.2.

If it has a TITO board installed then you need to set the COMM/SAS settings for it.  If not, then the candle will blink like sixcardmark said.

As far as the no sound goes, did it work prior to you "resetting" it?  GK6.2 is a 044 game and the flash cards are extremely sensitive to electrostatic discharge.  9 out of 10 times when there's no sound from a 044 platform the game flash board is the problem, at least in my experience.

I didn't even think about it being a flashboard.  :duh:  Was thinking 5.x  I agree the sound is usually first to go on them.

First thanks to everyone for the help.
Now after playing game almost all day yesterday I turned power off at the cabinet. This morning I switched it back on and its back to sitting with a slot screen and no button lites . I think the button lites have to be lite correct for the machine to operate. Is there a switch or sensor on the door  that has to be satisfied to let you play the game.
If it works like yesterday it will sit like that most of the day then out of the blue suddenly the buttons lte up and it worked fine except for the sound.
this is a new adventure for this 73 year old man but im learning something that I really enjoy

Make sure the door latch is pushed down all the way.  It will not let you play if the door is open.  Also make sure the bill validator door is closed all the way or the switch for it is bypassed.  Also make sure the MPU board is pushed in all the way.

Yes, there are switches that have to be closed for the machine to operate.  If you look at the lower left side of the screen and open the main door you'll see a message that says "Door Open M".  When you close and latch it that message should go away.  The belly glass door also has a switch that is in series with the door switch, both of those must be closed or you'll see a "Door Open M" message.  Your belly door switch may be bypassed, a lot of people do that to prevent door open error issues.

Age is just a number, or so I try to convince myself  :Tongue_Out:

Edit to add: Mark posted as I was typing this.  If the bill validator door is open you'll see a "Door Open B" message on the bottom left side of the screen.  If both validator door and main door are open you'll see "Door Open MB".  Validator door switches are often bypassed too.

It's a 17" Game King cabinet.  If you can post a picture of the MPU board we can tell you what type it is, but assuming you're correct and it's GK6.2 then it's an 044 MPU with a flashcard.  a
