Hello,
Having an issue with getting tito to work on my avp smld machine. I have several comm daughter boards but the all look like the one in the picture. Does it require a power harness? If it does require one, does someone have one or a picture?As I can't find ones without the 4 pin molex on it.
Any help is much appreciated. Thank you.

No additional power is required. It's probably something in your settings.

As Ron stated no power to the RS232 only to tito. If you turn the lights out you will see that the RS232 will light up green and start flashing when you apply power to the TITO board. You will see a faint red flash here and there. Hard to see though

My settings must be way off then. Tito says it's not communicating.

Try this video and make sure your G2S is not enabled. Change line 2 & 3 to not required, then scroll down to the last line and choose no.

one more question, did you use the 9 pin cable that came with the tito? I wanted to add my tito in the topbox instead of the lower cabinet to get it out of the way. I bought a 6 foot 9 pin cable that would not work. there are straight through and null or crossover cables. one will not work. I think you have the have the null cable if I am not mistaken.

Did you change validation style from enhanced to system?

Yes. Changed that setting to system.

There are multiple com ports on the backplane, make sure you are selecting the right com port when setting up the port in the settings.

Left most is number 1 and 2,3,4?

Rick is onto something. your pic shows j141 which i believe is com 2 or 3. try to match the setting,

I tried all 4 comms in the setup and nothing changed. Same error.

Did you try plugging into a different port, the one (of 4) you are using may be bad?

Tried all 4 ports and used 3 different daughter boards.
Green Light never came on any of them from any port.

Are those boards for IGT or bally? Can you post a pick of the position of the 3 com wires?

Didn't turn machine on for these pics.
Which one is right?
Ended up resetting the machine making sure all settings were right it still had the same error and no green light on the daughter board. Don't know what else to try or do?

The wiring harness for the tito to the daughter board came with the tito. It's the 5 pin to the tito. Tito powers by the usb and says it's not communicating with the machine. The green light has not turned on any of the 3 daughter boards I have tried. Either there is another setting that is not right that I know about or the backplane is not powering the daughter board.

Does your Tito have any lights on it? If so do they come on when you plug in the usb? Most have a led on them. Not sure what Tito you are using. The 232 is not going to show any type of life until you Tito is operational with power. No lights will be on. Have you tried to use a phone charging brick and plug in to your tito usb to it? That’s only 500ma from the USB is it even coming on?

Did tito have a light on it before you attached it to the external power?

Yes. Green light on tito and slow blinking red on tito with usb and with usb plug in. Nothing ever on the daughter board.
Tried all 4 comm ports with redoing all settings and still get the error.

Thank you for the help Chris and Ron. I'm about certain it is the backplane needs replacement. Looking for one that works.

Well. The daughter boards were fine, have 2 extra, it was the backplane. Replaced it and all is good. Love tito.
