Title: GAME PLAY SOUND STARTS OUT NORMAL THEN FADES
Post by: vegasbaby on November 01, 2014, 04:46:37 PM
HI

Well this new machine that i bought with out a on sight inspection due to my location,is starting to reveal issues. When i first start up the machine for game play, the game sounds are normal. But after about 10 min of play, the sound starts to fade to where you cant even here the sound. I have removed the sound card,to see if maybe there was dust, ect. Remounted still after 10 min,the sound fades to where you cant here the sound. Do you think i have a bad sound card? Or something else ?
What purpose dose the speaker mounted at bottom front serve? Its not connected due the two connections points don't line up

THANKS
MARK

Sounds like a cap in the audio amp board is going out-when it warms/heats up fades.  The lower plug is just for the tray speaker but does enhance sound.  Those boards are fairly reasonable on prices if that is the case.

I noticed you have miss matched plugs on your lower speaker connectors. That is why they wont fit.The white one on the cabinet is the older style and the black one from the speaker is the newer one. All you need is an older style white one that you replace the black one with. Just unplugs from the speaker.

Instead of replacing that plug you can install spade connectors on each set of wires also. Those tray speaker plugs can be a pain in the butt anyway

HI

Just received and installed new sound board & connected lower tray speaker. Now the only sound i here.is coming from the tray speaker. So i unhooked that speaker & still no upper speakers. Could it be that i have a bad sound board again ? If the sound board is bad would the lower speaker still put out sound? Any tips out there ?

THANKS

Take the MMLB board off.  That's the board on your MPU that has the DSV00042 sound SIMM installed.  Take the 2 screws out, and remove the board.  Reinstall your MPU and play the game.  You'll have generic sound that will only play out of 1 speaker...left I think.  If you get consistent sound, you may have a bad MMLB and/or DSV00042 sound SIMM.

Thanks,
Jason

Hi Jason

Did what you requested i try. Remove MMLIT BOARD/WITH SOUND SIMM. Now i get upper speakers sound from both speakers, looks like some one wired it that way. Also game sound is very loud,do i need to key chip to lower? Do you now feel the problem now is in the MMLITE BOARD or SOUND SIMM or both? Will double triple red hot sevens take any other sound simms? How should the upper speakers be wired to meet factory specs,as there is one set of speaker wires that is cut off.

THANKS

Next to the zip tie (001.jpg) you'll see two cut wires.
That's where the other speaker connects.
