Title: PCI Cards
Post by: wilm245 on December 28, 2023, 10:12:25 AM
I have 2 PCI cards that have the same part number 75438803W on them, although the sticker with the p/n is on the front of one and the back of the other.  I think they were manufactured by different suppliers for IGT.  The only noticeable difference that I see is the component in the R10 location.  Both cards have a black plastic piece with 16 gold holes on the top, but one of them has a very small green board with a black chip that is mounted on top of the black 16 hole plastic piece.  I initially thought that the card without the additional chip thing was probably supposed to have it and assumed that it probably broke and fell off but after looking online I see that there are several vendors selling G23 PCI cards that don't have the additional chip.  Does anyone know what this chip is and why its there?  Pictures attached, sorry that they are a bit blurry my camera lens has a crack in it.

Boot chip 2. Most are pulled and sold separately.
