Title: Looking for where to start, first IGT S2000 slot machine problem
Post by: tgaworski on February 27, 2024, 04:53:07 PM
I did a few searches on trying to figure out where to start with my S2000, and I found several links to newlifegames.com, so I thought I would register, in the hopes of finding someone who can point me in the right direction.

I looked in the "look here first section", and didn't see anything related to the my IGT S2000 (Red, White & Blue) not powering up.  In the Game Software Vision Series and S2000 Products Release 9 manual I searched for circuit breaker, fuse, and didn't find anything.  Perhaps, there are other manuals, not sure where to find them.

I put together a foosball table and while doing that, walked by the S2000 and there was a static charge release to the machine.  The machine was not on.  I opened the door to turn the machine on and nothing, no lights, now power to the machine, or otherwise.

In the past I've owned several pinball machines and have and can use a multimeter, but would have to watch a few videos to get reoriented.    :waving_flag:right direction to diagnose the issue and how to repair it.  I certainly appreciate it!

Be sure the power cord is plugged in and fully seated.  Check to see if you have 120 vac at the service outlet, rear box behind the hopper. If voltage is present, check the power supply behind the reels. Be sure power is getting there. Verify the power supply is fully seated.

You may want to order a spare PSU... the S2000 PSU's have a terrible reputation once they get over 10 years old of failures and voltage problems.  Assuming you check for basic power (like explained in the above reply), and there is power to the machine, the PSU is likely the next culprit, they cause all kinds of weird problems.

Thanks to you both!  I will check what is in the first reply, then onto the second if the first item is not the issue!
