Universal ram reset help

(1/2) > >>

Samm329:
Hello,

I recently bought my first Universal Co Dynamite machine copyright 1985, I had a problem with coins getting stuck and fixed that, did some fresh wiring from the previous users hack job, all wiring is right now, but when I start it up sometimes I get an error code e2 e3 e12, and sometime even ' ' -- sometimes the hopper just starts spinning (empty if course) but I can't seem to find any reset switches on the machine to clear the ram, anyone who can help it will be greatly appreciated! I'd love to get these reels spinning again!

Thanks
Sam

UNIMAN:
The Dynamite machine was pre-casino machines but I believe it used the 8116 board. (Never worked on one)
The error codes I have no idea what they are.

It looks like your board sits backwards from the casino style machines. Pull the hopper out and look at the back (half way up) on the board. There should be a small black push button, smaller than a dime and just pushes in an 1/8 of an inch. With the machine off push and hold the button in while turning on the machine. Hold the button in about three seconds and release. This clears the ram on an 8116 board.
Pretty sure it doesn't matter if hopper is plugged in or not.

Jim

May it help that it is a 8205-A board, which is slightly different in its own ways.

Thanks
Sam

UNIMAN:
I do not know the 8205-A board. But all other universal boards have a reset button(s) or small toggle that is pushed on startup and resets the ram. If you cannot find a reset post a good pic of the board and I'll see if I can find it.

Thanks for responding, so I pulled my hopper out and noticed that there is corrosion on about 5-6 compactors on the board that could be a lot of the issue, and I'll look into getting replaced on Monday. But still I have yet to find a reset switch and starting to feel that if it was a snake it would have bit me by now. Hopefully this pictures sharp enough for you.

Thanks again, especially for the speedy responses,
Sam.
