OK So I have done a little research and here are my thoughts. Please someone chime in fill in the blanks.

We know that the original ATA was 1.0025. If you look at the PSR for ATA1.0025 you will see that it worked with Steppergame 24.
If you look at the PSR For Steppergame 24, it supported a SS chip. (which would of course be for the payout of the "deluxe" version and possilby other versions.)

SO I think the original software was the following
ATA 1.0025
SS chip???
Stepperbase 161
VFD??
Version??

I think this is how the game was originally setup to play..
I believe the paytable was controlled with an ss chip on steppergame 24.

If you look Stepperbase 161 in code you will that it is a type 0 game, bonus type 27. That is clear as day in the programming. See the attached pic for code.
This was the original progamming from what I am making of all of this.

We have ATA 1.0025 but it has been upgraded.
We need to follow the software update trail and that should make this game play.
I cannot figure out the updated software will not work SG380, SB161 and such. The PSR for SG380 Shows that this game completly should work with SG380.

I have always thought programmed into the stepperbase was code that states the stepperbase was looking for a particular BGM NUMBER. But I think I can prove this wrong now.
If you look at the code for STEPPERBASE 198 which of course is for "The fishing game" then you will see that it is also a TYPE 0 game, bonus 27.

I Do Not believe that the stepperbase is calling for a particular bonus game number such as BGM00058. It is calling for a TYPE game and a Bonus Type game.
This is the reason the games are playing on Stepperbase 198 however the paytables are wrong. They are all type 0 games, with bonus type 27 media.

There are four games for vision that I can find that are Bonus 27.
A) Nothing to loose
B) Tee Time
C) Hook Line and Winner
D) The Fishing Game

I cannot verify that Stepperbase 158 or 159 (nothing to loose) Is a type 0 (because I cannot find the stepperbase), but on the PSR for Nothing to loose BGM It says that it is a TYPE 27 Bonus Media, SO I can only assume that it is also a Type 0 game and all TYPE 0 Games with Bonus TYPE 27 media should play on ALL of these stepperbases.

We just need to figure out all of the updated software and which ATAs replaced what ATA and which StepperGame replaced What Steppergame and possibly go backwards a little to a previous HLW setup and this game in theory should work.

Attached is a list of all the Sizzling7's SS Chips I could find on the mississippi gaming comm website.

I never messed around too much with Sizzling 7's on a S+ machine, only a few haywire machine and double diamond, stuff like that.

What is the "DEXLUE?"
Is that a type 0 that is shown on the list?

Seems weird that the STepperbase says a type 0 game and a few of the SS chips are a TYPE 0

I think you are on to something. I bet the sizzling seven bonus chip might work. Only thing is ss chip usually works with sb00100 or something.

I can only try the ss/sb001000 combo later...I have the bonus sizzling sevens deluxe version for the s+...it connected via a small serial I terrace board to the top box lighted bonus display unit...much like the way the LCD is connected using the 3 gray serial harness in an s2k vision...golfing today! Chris, your programmer is still reading data backwards...lol...might be a reader setting?

So the first time I see the HLW ever mentioned is in Steppergame 123 which is ATA 10053 or its replacement; however it does not call for a SS eeprom. Those stopped around SG100.

I do not have SG123 and ATA10055 replaced ATA 10053 Im pretty sure, which I do have.

Ok one more update and Im off to bed. I worked all night haha.. I will try to write this so it makes sense.

First if you look at the pictures that Mike posted, we KNOW that this is a multi denom game, but we already know that. IF you look at the VFD display in the pics it is a split screen which will only be supported by a multi denom game.

So according to the Mississippi Gaming commission list I see the following
Stepperbase 161 is approved software it is on the list.

The following steppergames are the only ones on that list that could possibly support this game

SG380 has no support for a SS chip version VS11GX1 is all that is approved so I think this is the original Hook line and winner that Mike was playing It has no features like Sizzling 7's or Sizzling 7's Deluxe or any of that. It is just pure Hook line and Winner

SG84 DOES have support for a ss chip and can be a multidenom game but you must use it along with stepperbase 161 in order to pull the BGM
SG83 DOES have support for a ss chip and can be a multidenom game but you must use it along with stepperbase 161 in order to pull the BGM

So if you are trying to play a special game with Sizzling 7 deluxe or something like that, you will need to drop down to one of the StepperGames that support a SS chip and use it for the paytable I'm not sure what the difference is in SG84 and SG83 I don't have either one.

Also, the PSR for ATA10049 supports SG81 SG82 SG83 SG84 SG85 SG86 and SG87

I am also wondering if you used SB198 with SG 83/84 and a SS chip then it would line up the reel strips

Chris...I only have one question at the moment I didn't mention in our correspondence....

When you say "Stepper game"...do you really mean the "BGM" CF flash card??

The PSR sheets refer to the BGMs as "Bonus Game Modules"

Just need to clarify your terms you're using.

I've heard of "Stepperbases" but not "Stepper games"

I know one thing...I don't have BGM00024...It's not even on the IGTMaster List.

I am still not convienced that there isn't 2 versions of this game.. Here is the Nothing to Lose strips also. And we also know there is a Sizzling 7's version of Hook Line And Winner that exists (Mike has it) that match the Tee Time Sizzling 7's

I believe there is a set of stepperbases (probably 160/161) runs the Sizzling 7's version of Tee Time / Hook Line Winner with a BGM (NOT 58)
and
a set of stepperbases (probably 158/159) that run the regular version of HLW/Tee Time/Nothing to lose with BGM 56,57,58

There is only 4 different % paybacks on 161 which is also odd! 198 has 8 different % paybacks! That to me is a clue. Why only 4 options??

I believe we may have the BGM that matches 158/159 and there is a BGM that we don't know about that runs with 160/161 for the Sizzling 7's Version.

I Just don't believe that IGT would print random reel strips with the sizzling 7's on it. There is something different. Why even print them if nothing was different???

The paytable for "nothing to lose" also matchs the paytables for Tee Time and HLW..
