Pharaoh's Fortune Dotmation machine
« on: May 22, 2023, 03:10:32 PM »
I don't know if anybody can source parts for a Williams Dotmation. I have done an lower and upper power supply mod for this machine but still have a problem. The game plays upper screen is good. I do not have any florescent lights. I wouldn't have the upper screen but I ran a separate power for the power supply. It appears in the lower power supply the lower board that has the connectors for the game is not working. I have checked the 2 fuses and all components look good. I took the pdu out of the machine and plugged it in. I get power to the non switched outlet and thru the on/off switch and power gets to a J plug into the board but after that nothing gets to the switched outlets or the connector plugs. Is there any source for the lower board ? Thanks for any suggestions.

I don't think you'll find any lower PSs any longer.  2 options remain.  If you know electronics, you can recap the thing and it should be good.  Or try the ATX power supply workaround as described in the sticky posts above.

Thank You playklax01 for your response. I don't know if these boards use tvs diodes or not. When I reinstalled the next day the output connectors along the bottom all fired up. The switched service outlets are on as well. The 10 pin connector for the 12 volts to the bill validator was still dead. I wired it up to one of the mods and it is working fine. I have been powering on and off as normal. It has been played for many hours with no issue's. Go figure !
