Title: S machines with S+ boards.
Post by: 61Wally on June 18, 2022, 09:17:42 AM
I have 2 identical “WILD CHERRY” S machines with S+ boards. The first one has a SP731 game chip. Plays great except I can’t utilize the “CASH OUT” to accumulate credits. The second one has a SP872 game chip and it works great except for No reel sounds when it’s spinning. I’ve tried ram clearing these machines and reprogramming, but ends up with same issues, Any thoughts on these 2? Thank You.

there were no 'S' machines with S plus boards, if they have sp chips then your machine is an S plus.

on the 731 machine, check the setting 5_0,5_1,5_2,  in the input tests, set to 5_0.  no credits on the machine.

on the 872 machine,  check the dip switch settings, 1-4 should all be on.

Hope this helps

Early S+ models did not have bill validators and thus there may be confusion, S models looked almost identical and also did not have bill validators.
Those early S+'s were occasionally upgraded with "side car" bill validators. These were housings bolted to the side. Ugly as sin. They were more common on early PE+ models.
There should be a external metal IGT tag close to the pull handle that would say S+ on it.
