For those that would like, I recently bought some alpha -1 -1gig boxes with dual vid. cards and have some that are 2-gig,-have new 512's and new 1-gigs also.
1-gig box-dual vid.--175.00 plus shipping
2-gig box-dual vid.--185.00 plus shipping
New 1-gig in wrapper-300.00 plus shipping
New 512 in wrapper-100.00 plus shipping

Have some of these left.  It seems some want to skimp and get burned on bad or improper equipment due to the seller or buyer's hindsight.  If you have a machine that is worth 18-3k why not put good equipment in it.

Barry, I have the Alpha 1 with the Playboy theme. I have to wait 15 minutes for it to boot. I think it was Ford that told me to upgrade to a 1 gig and it would boot in less than 5 minutes. What do you say?

 That is true,  The more memory -the faster the boot.   Have to have the correct bios and os.  After that -Lighting fast.
