Title: POG Machines
Post by: OneHardKorean on March 01, 2017, 11:37:16 PM
I have heard that you could "program" Pot of Gold Machines to pay out if buttons are pushed in a certain way, coins played in certain amounts, etc.... Is that true?

yes, there is a secret sequence of pressing buttons in a certain order that will cause the machine to dump all the cash it contains. This works on bank ATM's also. Just send me $99 and I'll get right back to you with the instructions.  I got them from a friend in Nigeria, so you know it works!   :garfield:

Hey you don't got to be a dick about it.  I am new to this and this guy has been coming into my game room and CONSISTENTLY been winning big numbers.  Also he used to be a tech here locally on these machines.  Thats why I asked.

I thought you were joking, you didn't explain any of those followup details. Watch your language & knock off the personal insults you turd. If you can't take some internet humor maybe you shouldn't be on the internet.

If you don't want that guy playing in YOUR game room then ban him. Who's the boss there? If he shares his "secret" with someone else they will start winning consistently and you will know the machine is rigged. But if the problem goes away then he just had a lucky streak.

Yes, someone trusted with access to the inside of a slot machine that is skilled in how it operates could rig the machine to do something it wasn't designed to do, like this guy:

Thanks for the info rokgpsman.  There is no "proof" so I didn't know how to ban him (the thought crossed my mind more than a few times).  Anyway the wikipedia link was great info too.  Thanks brother.

Maybe a CC camera and recorder. Costs less than a machine. Could pay for itself pretty quick also.

you're welcome, glad to see you here on NLG.

Many times a private business can refuse to provide a customer with their service for their own reasons. No Shoes, No Shirt, No Service and all that. The casinos in Las Vegas do not have to provide a reason to ask you to leave. Gambling isn't a right, it is a privilege. Maybe it is the same where you are. If he is always playing a single machine you can take it out of the room for awhile, have someone examine it for extra wiring or replace the software chips on the machine's main logic control board with known correct ones just as a precaution.

That Ron Harris dude was pretty famous at the time and he is still well-known out there. It kinda shook up things knowing that a trusted insider like that could and would come up with such clever scheme. There's been much written about it if you want to google and get more information. Before him most thought that what he did wouldn't be possible with all the security procedures that were in place, plus he had to have considerable knowledge about the slot machine's internal software, which isn't exactly in the public domain.
