Peter Hand passed away a couple of weeks ago according to his wife.
He was 73 years old and spent his last couple of months in and out of the hospital.
She is disconnecting his phone and appreciates no more calls or contact attempts to reach him.
I will miss him and his infrequent visits to our shop.
RIP Peter

Thats really crummy.
Statfreak (David) and I took Peter out to dinner quite a few years back now. It was at Binions. I exchanged emails with David and he has the pictures.
I had first met Peter at one of Joeys famous 4th of July parties along with his wife.
Peter was instrumental in solving the $5 bill S+ problem.
IGT had decided not to pay JCM for the new $5 currency for the DBV200 heads as they wanted the S+'s out of circulation but JCM had already created the code.
Although he had nothing to do with downloading the code himself, I know he was able to leverage his connections and somehow that code made it out into the wild.

Very sad news indeed. Op-Bell was the go-to source for information for some of the older machines. May he rest in peace.
