Can the progressive jack pot be reset to lower values. I am putting this machine in my game room and would like to start with lower values $50,$25,$10, $1

Bally alpha's progressive values are determined by a formula, anything lower will result in an invalid progressive message and the game won't play. You might want to consider changing the theme of the machine so that it does not have a progressive paytable to limit your exposure.

Stars and Bars quickhit I assume. You can look for these titles with no progressives:
Peacock Plenty, Wild Stripes, Black Star, Cherry Red, Golden Flash, and Playboy Free Games.
These are the ones off the top of my head. There are others with less engaging game play, so I listed the ones that are from the later games made for that platform. The popular games for that platform are the quick hits (which is what you have) and the hot shot games, but they are both progressive type games. Understand that these games were meant to have high volatility, so if you do not ever want to pay out a high jackpot, an s9000 is not something you should be using if you only have 1 machine.
