Title: Touch Screen Calibration Issue on 17" GK CRT
Post by: Amechanic on December 05, 2016, 03:24:40 PM
I was just working on a Game King with a 17" CRT touch screen. I notice the touch screen was off so I tried to recalibrate it. Every time I would test the screen after the calibration, the screen would show the screens dot about 2" to the right of my touch. It's off low on the bottom. I don't see any scratches or damage to the touch screen. I'm guessing my problems with the control board?

Thanks, Gary

When you did the calibration, did you hold your finger on the dot until you heard the tone? Mine took a few seconds to respond, especially with a cold hand.

Some of the times you are not going to see the damage to the touchscreen matrix.  I've had units where the damage is on the edges of the glass that is not seen.  What you describe is typically a touchscreen issue and not a controller issue.  The controller typically either works or it doesn't.  I'm assuming that the 2 inches of the left side of the screen do not respond to touch?

I will have to check the 2" on the left edge. I did hold my finger till the tone and then did the other touches the same way.
