Title: Summit Royal Touch printer error won't clear

    I have a Summit Royal Touch video machine that when I power it up, it stops at "printer error" and I can't find a way to clear this error, it has plenty of printer paper in it so that's not the problem. Is there a method, perhaps similar to the way you clear a Bally or IGT machine errors? Thanks

Try reseating power and comms cables to the printer. If not try reseating the harness to the backplane.

I just tried that plus I fed a print out ticket I to the printer and it pulled it in like normal, closed the main door, powered off and back on and I'm still getting this message

Plus, I pulled the board and the main soldered in battery is dead and it looks like it's missing a battery or a key/dongle on the board, would that make the error not clear?

I'm not sure about what errors a dead battery might cause on these boards. We didn't have a spare board for me to look at but IIRC our boards had one battery missing as well.

Did you already try swapping the printer? 'Paper low' could be a dip switch on the printer? Does the game have other errors besides the printer? It was working fine previous to this?

If that battery is dead you may as well replace it or the board. From our CPU schematics B1 VBAT runs to U1 not sure what all that in turn powers/controls...

Unfortunately I do not have another printer to try, could I just disable the printer altogether? Yes this paperwork error is the only error I am getting and it did work before

You might be able to disable the printer I'm not sure. Or disable/fix the 'low paper' error. Try looking up your printer model to see if you can find a manual or something that speaks to the 'paper low' setting. Usually it's a dipswitch on the printer or sometimes a soft setting on the machine.
