Title: Bally Alpha stuck on loading Kernal
Post by: rwalker192 on November 18, 2017, 11:11:32 AM

I purchased a not working bally alpha Peacock Plenty. When the game is turned on it loads as far as loading kernal and stops there. It will clear as normal but when the game is installed it stops at loading kernel. I swapped the cpu and backplane but still have the same problem. Any Ideas?
Thanks
Bob

Bob, Have you verified that the game cf and os cards are good?.  Seems like peacock plenty liked to be in 1-gig boxes from my memory.  Are you using a 336x os system and a 335 clear card.  Not at home now but will help more if needed when I get back.  B. (you probably have a 512 box?)

I loaded a different game in the 1 gig box and everything is fine, so I guess the game card is bad. The guy I got it from said he had a power surge and the game went down. I'll order a game and os card tomorrow.
The weird thing is it will only clear with a 320 clear not the 335 that I normally use. I'll post how this turns out.
Thanks
Bob

You should upgrade BIOS to the 33x series.  The 32x stuff always gave me headaches.
