Title: Konami Advantage 5 Monitor issue
Post by: NevadaSweetheart on November 22, 2017, 01:02:52 AM
Hi all, hope everyone is getting ready for the turkey dinner :)

I have a bit of an issues with my Konami Advantage 5 monitor that won't stay on.  I tried pulling and reinserting the monitor cable, it briefly turns on then goes back to black.

I really love to get this fixed, i'm already on my last few strands of my hair trying to figure out what's going on.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks.  :)

I would first hook a laptop to the monitor while the slot is powered on to see if the monitor stays on with the video coming from the laptop.  If it stays on with the laptop hooked to it then the problem is in the slot and not the monitor.  Thats a good start on troubleshooting this.  TJ

Hey!  That's pretty smart.

I tried it and found that the monitor is the one that's causing the problem, any fix on this?

Fixing most LCD monitors involves subing boards inside the monitor.  Most LCD monitors have an AD board, inverter board, touch screen board.  Inverter board powers the screen light tubes and the AD board tells it when  to turn on.  Could be either board or both.  Best way to fix them is to sub these boards but unless you have them on hand it would cost you more to buy them then to buy a good used monitor.  The vendors on this site could probably help you out with a good used monitor.  Good luck  Ted
