Title: 17” Ceronix, The Screens too big top to bottom.
Post by: Amechanic on November 03, 2019, 01:21:03 PM
I’m doing a monitor swap in a 17” Game King. It’s going from a CRT to a Ceronix LCD. My main problem is with the Vertical size. I can’t shrink down the Vertical to fit the screen enough when the doors closed. I have the correct flat screen door bezel. I’m running a 3902 board.

Thanks Gary

I'm not sure how you change it but the resolution should be 1280x1024.

When I did my swap, there was an autosize (or some name like that) on the new LCD. I pressed it and the resolution changed perfectly to fit the screen. You've probably already done that though...

Yea it’s a factory reset. Dint change it enough. I know the resolution should be changed but I could find that setting? Would it be in the game setting??

Is it possible the LCD is setup for a 044 MPU?  Just a guess, but maybe worth checking:

Well I tried moving the jumper on my Ceronix LCD Monitor. It didn’t make any difference on the size of my screen. I need to figure out how to change the screens resolution. Does anyone knowf

This may be no help but found it in a random manual I have.

It is best to display an image that has a full window of active video. This allows the monitor to detect and center the image on the display.
If the image does not fill the screen and center itself after power up, press the “SELECT” button. The display will attempt to adjust the image so that it fills the screen. If the image is centered and fills the screen, try recycling the power to the display. If the image appears centered and fills the screen, then the auto- detect functioned properly.

Well I’m still having no luck trying to resolve this issue with my vertical being foo big. I’ve tried moving the jumper on the board under the cover on the rear of this Ceronix Monitor. I have tried to auto auto adjust for a screen size. I even used my key. Chip again hoping I missed a something in the setup menu, but no difference..  This is the first time in doing a monitor swap to an LCD that I’ve run into this problem. Any ideas???

Press the auto adjust button a few times until it gets it right.

Also, not all the 17" flat LCD bezels are the same.  Some have a bigger opening for the monitor than others.  The bezel that comes with a ceronix has the larger opening (I still have one new in the bag), you may need one of those if it won't resize small enough.

You may have hit it right on the head!! :fryingpan: Can you post a picture of the larger bezel? Does it have a part number on it?

I posted a picture in my first post that had the monitor model number and Date of manufacturing.

CPM2276 is used with Kortek LCDs too.  If you have a CPM2276 bezel it will be marked on the back side where the door wire connects to it as shown in the picture.

Yes my new one (with the larger opening) is CMP2276.

Here is a pic of the one with the smaller opening.  It has a 45 degree angle the 2276 does not have.

Thanks RB for the link. Price is not too bad. I was thinking of modifying my bezel.

Went and check my flat screen betel. It doesn’t have those numbers in the location by the door cable. I do see a number on the top edge, near the hinge side. That number is, REV #65237000. I do see this >PC< where the other number was supposed to be.

Yes that is same bezel I am talking about.  The vertical opening is smaller than the 2276.

Wow look what I found tonight. I bought 2 NOS 17” Ceronix from I think is was Buzz’s son a couple 2-3 years ago. I still have them and found this in the box of one of those monitors. Brand new, still in a plastic bag.

Well problems solved. Swapped out the bezel and fine tuned the screen size. This bezel is about 1/2” larger on the vertical size opening then the other one!

Thanks for everyone’s help on this problem. I was about to take my Dremel and a small cutting wheel to this other flat screen bezel to make it work.

This is great to hear!

Maybe time for some spring cleaning... oh wait...winter's coming. I can tell since we've got a "chill" forecast for later this week - it's supposed to be low 70's here in So Cal.  :frozen:

I'd probably die! Last time I was that far East was for the 1994 US National long track speedskating marathon, believe it or not. And I was 2nd!
Sorry Gary for hijacking your thread. Still glad your LCD is up and running. Post a photo!

Believe it or not, I put these things on my feet today and did a few laps at the ice rink just to make sure I could still skate on blades! I turned them in nearly 5 years ago for wheels since our ice club dissolved.
