Title: Bally Monte Carlo 91 NC Error
Post by: Brentd27 on May 16, 2020, 02:26:26 PM
Made some progress on the Monte Carlo. The progressive unit is showing the correct jackpot on the display, but the base unit still says 91NC and the bonus wheel up top never stops spinning. I'm guessing the board that controls the wheel may be bad, or did I miss a setting?

I followed the S6000 cham2 configuration tthread in the Mikohn section of the forum, and that restored the jackpot display.

The DS1 jumper block, I put back the punch out block that was in the machine when we got it. Everything connected (on) except 5 & 7.

What am I missing?

I think your wheel will keep spinning till the errors are cleared?  What are your  settings  for  #2 & #7 in the 11d menu?

#2 = 4
#7 = 1

Try changing  #2 setting to 5

Went through the same thing recently, the 91NC generally shows up when the wheel is not connected to the MPU, either the connector on the front left of the MPU, or at the wheel board.

I still had issues when properly connected, but wasn't getting 91NC, just wheel spin. In my case, had to swap in an MPU from a non-Monte and ran a clear, and the wheel finally synced with the MPU.

Try changing  #2 setting to 5

Finally got a chance to try this. Didn't help.

Like cheller mentioned,  bad cable connection at the MPU or Wheel,  they  can't communicate and you will get 91nc and  wheel will  not  stop  spinning. Try ohming the wires in the cable.

Where is the wheel board located? I'm guessing it's different than the Cham-II.

There's a metal enclosure in the back of the upper cabinet behind the Display, but below the wheel that we don't have a key to. There also appears to be a cabinet behind the wheel that we don't have a key to.
