Title: Monopoly Topper
Post by: Delma on March 21, 2021, 06:27:25 PM
Just loaded up Monopoly Millionaire on V32/22 Alpha 2 machine and everything goes through smoothly. After watching some videos on this game I noticed several times where 32 inch says look up. So unlike the the firelink games where I've just unplugged the vga cord to topper to have firelink logo on the 22 inch screen instead of the topper, I put the vga back to the topper connection. But games still plays on 22 inch screen. Not sure why? Am i missing something here. I don't know of anything else to change around. I've always just change one port if i wanted video on 22 inch instead of topper.

Disconnect the topper from the VGA on the CPU.  The topper must be connected to a 2nd DP port on the video card with a DP to VGA adapter.  So in other words all 3 monitors are connected to the video card.

Oh, and make sure you clear the machine before doing this or it won't display correctly

Thanks idesign

If I understand correctly, I’d need to get a vga to display port adapter and place it in the 2nd slot of the k2000 video card. Which would then leave the 22 or 32 monitor (one of them) hooked to nothing as there’s only 2 ports. Would I then need to run a dvi cable to whichever monitor I unplugged in order to have all 3 monitors plugged into the video card? I would think since the 22 inch won’t be used for gameplay I wouldn’t need to run anything to this screen. But I’m not pro that’s why I’m asking the question.

Thanks for the help.

Oh, I see your confusion. I was thinking 22/32 but you are using the machine as a v32.  So DVI to the 32 and DP to VGA adapter for the topper

Awesome. Thanks. Yes I’m going to run this one correctly as a v32 game on the 32/22 machine. Again thanks for the help.  :hail:

Make sure the 22 is disconnected then clear before booting up in that configuration

Got it. I’ll run this configuration, clear then setup machine.

Thanks

Alright, Have this machine setup properly. Display on the topper looks amazing. But with me theres always some. During the middle of game play the 32 in screen and topper lose signal and turn off. I can reboot, which takes a very long time with this being a huge game size and it'll play for a bit and repeat the same thing. I have to take it out of service until I can fix it. Can't have customers playing this machine while this happens.

Gonna take a wild guess here and say it's not the game. Gotta be something in the machine. Just loaded up Michael Jackson and it did the same thing. Much smaller file so reboots quicker but topper, 32, and 22 cut off during gameplay. leaving nothing on but the ideck.

Swap out the CPU and see if that fixes the problem

Don't have a spare CPU. I've had a post on here WTB for CPU with no luck as of yet. I did however after we closed down for the night take a CPU out of another machine and place it in this machine. Tested for a couple hours and it did not black out on me. Did however place that CPU back in it's original machine.

That being said seems like it is a CPU issue. A weird one at that. I don't think I've ever seen a machine that just blacks out. Doesn't show any errors, nothing just cuts off. Cycle the machine and it plays for a while and does the same exact thing.

What could be wrong with the CPU? Bad video card? Ram or hard drive maybe? This machine was running UFL Route 66 without issue for months. As soon as I factory reset, Installed new bios, Installed Monopoly Millionaire, added the VGA to display port adapter to place 22 inch display to topper, and set the game up. Thinking maybe monopoly is just too big I gave up and placed MJSS on there. Same result. I don't know what's causing it.

I don't know but I think a different video card would be next thing to try.  Does it have 2gb ram, try swapping the ram?

Ok, then new video card it is. I have one spare K2000 video card. I'll order a couple more for backup. Yes it is 2gb ram.

Forgot to update the forum on this one. The video card was the issue. Machine has been up and running since I changed the video card. Thanks for the help on this one, she's a beauty.
