Title: #3 Reel replacement

Good afternoon,,,,

After numerous test and switching reels and MPU's it appears reel #3, on my Double Diamond machine is bad. It is an upright, round top machine.
My question. Can the reel be repaired or do I need to replace it? Also, I assume any reel, made for my machine, will work, regardless of the number? I'm sure that was a silly question, but I don't want to compound the problem if I can prevent it!!!!

It could be repaired but they are cheap. The number is merely a decal that matters not. What's wrong with it? I have some S plus reels. If your basket is good, just remove it with the reel strip intact & put it on a different one.

I should have said the basket is bad.... I've move I to different slots and the error code follows it. 41-42-43.

The problem likely isn't the basket, which is the "cage" that the reel strip wraps around.  The issue is likely in the optic sensor on the reel, but it could also be a wiring problem or some other issue.  Reels are still pretty plentiful and thus are pretty inexpensive.  Best to just replace the problem reel with a known good reel.

There is a difference in the baskets between upright and slant top reels, so to answer your question, no, not any reel made for an S+ will work properly -- you'll want to purchase a reel made for an upright machine.

I'm agreeing on replacing the reel, or cage, I wasn't really sure what to call it. Also, I did see an "UP" on the side of the reel, so I appreciate the info.

Well, I received my reels, replaced #3 and all is fine!!!!
