I've replaced all of the florescent bulbs on my S2000 machines w/ the LED version. Will the LED version work in S Plus machines?
-
Replace with appropriate LED-type lamps that are rated for the S+'s F15T8 15 watt fluorescent tubes that are roughly 17-1/2" inches in total length from tip-to-tip in the socket.
I'm sure there's something that will fit on the market.
Here's a link to an example but it's waayyy too much!! haha...>>>

Thanks for the response. I'm not looking to have to buy any LED tubes. I was just hoping to be able to use some of the extra ones I have lying around here that are for the S2000 machines.

Are the ones you have for the S2000 T8 sized?
Like about 17-1/2" long?
-
Yes
-
well....what's the worst thing that can happen? lol
I use the same T8 tubes in both machines I have.
Is there any labeling/voltage markings/ manufactures stamp on the LED T8's you have?
Maybe we can cross reference it and see if it'll work in an S+?

These are the Suzo Happ LightPro mdl #91-1017-00

Tim .. they are used in S2000 machines. They get their power from the same source as the ballast. Measure the voltage on the power in side of the ballast. What ever voltage you get there is the same voltage you will need to find in your S+.
I believe they are 24V. But don't go by my word since I have seen and smelled smoke in several slots and you know you can't put that crap back in where it came from.
-
Thanks Ken,
The incoming voltages are different...so it looks like a "no-go".
-
Is power going to the ballast 24V on the S2000?
Isn't the S+ coin comparitor 24V? If so, could you tap into that power source?
-
My reading on the S2000 incoming was 24.4VDC
You're right Ken, the CC-16D coin comparator on the S= is 24 volt. I might have to try that....
Thanks!!!
-
Use CAUTION!!! WARNING!!!
S-2000 is +24 volts DC
S+ is 24 volts AC
-
Thank you Jim!!!!!
You stopped me from making a horrible mistake..... :thank_you:
-
Thanks Jim. I didn't realized that.

....but Jim, we wanted to see smoke?! :24: j/k
That's why I asked to see what LED lamps he had so we can cross-reference them.

Would one of these work?

I purchased a set up from Super Bright LEDS, the power supply, and the 5050 LED strips, cost would be around 2 7.00, so around 9.00 a bulb. so here is the plan, had some machines come in from New Jersey, they had zip tied the LED strips to the bulbs, the power supply will run the three strips, so you have to place the power supply in the top box area and run wires to each one. Just another option. I took pictures, so I'll post them if I can find them.

Nice lighting Jim! :cool_thumb_up:
I did the same for one of my S+'s that really was made for desktop computer towers.
It was called a CCFL cold cathode light made by Logisy's
The input voltage for the ballast was 12vdc.
I was able to utilize 2 power pins coming out of the spare bonus reel line lighting harness by the door hinge to power up the cheap Chinese ballast.
I stuck the ballast to the left wall on top of the reel shelf with Velcro.
Cost about $12 and after about 10 years, it is still working!
I still have one in a new box I've never had to change yet and it came with 2 lights in a box..lol
Your LED lighting looks much brighter than the ones I got.

I used those 12 volt LED strips on a topper I modified so I could install it on one of mt S+ machines.
