Title: Setting "Credit Mode"<0>[5] with a Set90 Chip (SP1145)
Post by: Classiccars on January 18, 2024, 09:28:41 AM
Had a died battery. Did the battery swap and now I need to reconfigure the settings.
S-Plus Double Diamonds Deluxe game using a SP1145 game chip.
I need to change the credit mode setting. As soon as you insert a bill, or win any amount it dispenses the coins from the hopper. I need help changing this back so it retains the credits on the game until the cashout is pressed.
I installed a "SET 90" chip but can't find or get to the Credit Mode <0>[5] area to change the option.
I was able to see other options like [8] Bill Acceptor Pay mode, and [9] Bill Acceptor Display. (To reactivate the bill reader), but wasn't able to fine where the Credit Mode <0>[5] option information is set.
Where can I find a good detailed instruction on how this "SET 90" utility chip works and what settings can be set and how?
Has anyone else had the problem and may be able to walk me through where to change the Credit Mode <0>[5] to "0"?
(I Also don't see the "Reel Spin Sound" <0>[2] or the "Volume Control" <0>[3] seetings.)
Thanks for you help.

A SET90 chip is for enabling the bill acceptor...lol
You can read how to use a SET chip here...>>>
http://www.newlifegames.net/spset/dbv.htm (http://www.newlifegames.net/spset/dbv.htm)

All those other settings are in the regular Options without the SET chip.
Download a copy of the Diagnostic Flip cards in this topic...>>>

If you have blue dial on top of the MPU, that's your volume control, and means you have a 10Mhz MPU board.
If not, then you have a 16Mhz MPU board and can only adjust volume in the Option settings.
They'll be in the Options for Rookies here...>>>

On the bottom of the spreadsheet, there's tabs...use SP731 or the SP1274 tab for your SP1145.
The options in that sheet will be close to the ones in your SP1145.

The S+ doesn't know denomination, it knows credits. When you drop a coin in it adds a credit.
The coin comparator compares what is dropped in but once its deemed a match you get a credit.
When you win - the machine spits out 3 coins (of whatever is in the hopper) or gives 3 credits - again not caring what coin handling is setup on the machine.

So getting back to your question......
How many credits do you get for a dollar ??
The SET chip is only to set the denomination (of the validator) and to activate (or deactivate) the validator.
That way when you put in a $1 bill you get 4 credits assuming you set the denomination to 0.25
The Set90 can also program the internal IGT progressive if you have one.... but thats it.

The Cash or Credit settings, max credits, max hopper etc etc are all set just using the white test button with the game chip (not set chip) in place.

I have attached a simplified sheet that should help you navigate some of those more common settings.

Thanks again everyone. I was able to set everything via the "Self test" portion.
