Title: Is this a fair price for a Cal Omega/CEI stand up machine?
Post by: Justin on May 24, 2022, 12:15:21 PM
Hi all,

I found a gentleman on facebook that has a stand up machine listed, he wants $2,000 but said $1,900 lowest. He is close to me and I would pick it up, but I want to know, if this a fair price:

He said it works great and there is nothing wrong with it.

Please let me know, I just want some insight before I make an offer.

To me is extremely high. $500 tops knowing repairs to MPU and Monitor will be tough, due to finding a person familiar with these and most parts are obsolete . You can get a GK with LCD and 75 games for that money.

Pass. Way to high. Agree with Sunrise, better machines at much better prices out there, even where you are.

Justin,

At that price walk or,  :cactus_run: away.  As stated above the price is too high, parts are difficult, and you can find much better games for less. Heck you can even buy an antique Mills, Jennings or other slot for that price.

Agree with all, insanely too high priced.
I paid $300 for mine, ten years ago. This guy is living in the past.
And, if I'm not mistaking - these look like VHS video cassette tapes to me!

I recently acquired one and will be listing it for $350. Everything works, the CRT is bright and clear and the cabinet is in VG condition for its age and the glass has negligible scratches. As mentioned, there are not a lot of people who work on these but K-Lar does have a test station for the 904 boards which is common in CEI from that era. Very robust. Unfortunately I am on the other coast and shipping is not reasonable. Best of luck, if you really want one just keep looking.

He claims it's and antique and won't budge on the price.

If anyone has or finds one for sale near Massachusetts please let me know. I really want to get a 904, 905, or 906(preferably which ever one supports a hopper for payout)

I have a 905 and 922 so far but no full size ones. All derringers.

I have an antique rock. Would he be interested in buying it?
He's totally disillusioned on machines like this, and needs to education himself, but that sounds like it won't happen anytime soon.
