Title: Alpha 1 issues with MEI Cashflow SC
Post by: cobra617 on February 20, 2021, 07:39:52 PM
Folks,
I have an MEI Cashflow SC in a Bally Alpha.
This thing has been flaky since day 1. It would successfully initialize...sometimes. Now it seems to never initialize. Even when it came up ok, it seemed to struggle. It was slow to pull in tickets/bills.

So, what it does is it now is it continually (every 5 seconds) seems to try to initialize. (Before, it would sometimes initialize ok, but now it has been a while since it has) When I take a look at the front of the validator all 3 lights are on solid. That manual states to replace the antenna PCB. Does anyone know where this part is?

I have another MEI Cashflow SC (for Bally...same part number). That unit doesn't work at all when I put it in. I am not technical enough to know if these have to be programmed for the machines they go into. But if this antenna PCB is on the MEI cashflow, I can grab it from the extra one.

Will cross post to MEI validator forum.

Thank you,

Please do not cross post.  It gest confusing as to which thread to follow.  You are better off buying a head that is known to be working, should be less than $50 in most places.  These are really not worth the time to fix unless you are proficient at it and has tons of good working parts to try to replace broken ones.  A lot of the times with these validators the little control board that is in the validator cage goes bad.  You might want to give that a try before you go trying new heads.
