Title: UBA-10'a Not working with WMS BB2

I have little to no history on the upright machine or the validator other than "it used to work but doesn't work now". They want minimal time involved.
One machine runs Silver Sword and the validator initializes but on a ram clear and basic config will never take bills because it has a "BillVal Comm error". I test it standalone on the bench it seems to take bills and calibrate fine but I'm not seeing anything wrong with the wiring between the validator and the CPU.
The other machine runs Bier Haus and the validator never self-initializes. It has a motor error when I test it on the bench. If I swap validators between machines, Silver Sword stops giving a comm error but cycles the validator until it gives a jam error (I mean, this IS the one that previously had a motor issue so that's understandable.) and Bier Haus doesn't give a comm error but still won't take bills with no other tilts.
