Title: Juris chip change affecting payouts?
Post by: mikeyg on April 03, 2024, 04:04:40 AM
I changed the Juris chips on my BB2s to Columbia, with no restrictions on payout.
Has anyone else noticed that the game payouts have decreased dramatically after doing this? Both machines seem to have the same affliction.
Is there a setting I am missing after changing the chip? The denoms are also a bit different, with less or only one choice.
Seems a waste of time to change the chips, and then never need them, because the game never awards over the old limit anyway!?? :Scratch-Head:

How many games have you played since you changed the chips?
Did you take note of how many games were played on the machine before you changed the chips?

Columbia juristdiction has different pay tables than Nevada or other USA pay tables.  Also, depending on the game volatility your payouts could be far and few between.  One other thing is you have to play a game many times before it settles in so your mileage may vary.

I hadn’t really kept track of games played. I would say after about 1 hour, I really noticed the lack of hits.
I changed back to the Mississippi chip in one machine (Planet Moolah) and noticed a better payout within 15 minutes.

Oh well, win some, lose some.

Thanks for the info folks.

Just speaking out of my rear end I notice a new game is loose when first loaded but tightens up pretty quick. Every game is a bit different.

I loaded Wonka Playing on a BB3 with the Columbia Jur chip 1$ denom.   $400 per pull with 10k buy-in.  The machine was giving back-to-back umpa lumpas, but strangely no rocket bonus.  I ended up with almost 300k by the end,  about 2 hours later.  The machine then went cold.  I mean super cold.  I have been playing for a week since, and it isn't giving up anything good.

I put the Mississippi chip back in the other machine and paid more attention to the payouts.
What I found was: (Newer Lord of the Rings with 6 unlocked bonuses)
The Paytables were the same for both chips.
The payouts were much more frequent and better payout. Ex. more wilds or more good items on a line.
SO, I think I’ll leave the Mississippi chips in for a while and just deal with the occasional hand pay, losing the credits. (Over $1200)
It’s just more entertaining that way (for us, at least).

What % did you set the game for when you installed the CF cards?  :scratch-head_3:
See   :sherlock: what is the game's % in the internal accounting presently...
Believe me, the machine is slowly, but surely working it's way to the % you originally set-up the game for.  :rotfl:

But someone must be able to explain if it is really possible if the game is set at the same percentage, that there could be a difference in gameplay. Afaik the jurisdiction should not influence the percentage. But your machine will always have “hot” and “cold” streaks..

Interestingly, I don't think we know the methodology of how the machine pays out, besides the paytables and the random number generator.  There has to be some intelligence in the programming. Sure,  We can look at accounting and when Wonka was paying crazy money. Hold and the payout was in the deficit by 100's of percent, but the theoretical payout stayed 95.7%.  I guess that's the rub of using these machines for home.  We are more interested in the fun of bonuses, but the machine is trying to recoup its loss. One thought is when you hit a huge jackpot to just wipe and reload the machine.  I would love to see the code behind the scenes. :)

It's a math model, the SJUR sometimes has influence over the paytables available for the jurisdiction, but the actual math for the paytables does not change.  So the SJUR does not influence payouts anything beyond the restrictions on the availability of the paytables.  The paytables are all math models with weighted symbols, the random number generator will always work the same way.  It is all just volatility.
