Hey hey,
My best guess is your machine was a tribal machine, or perhaps a gas station convienence store, etc. No coin. No printer. They would come and verify when you wanted to cash out(pre tito, club card, etc). Even now some tribes don't want to invest in backroom monitoring in there opening(waiting to make some money first). They would hand write it on a ticket and depending on the amount, floor attendant could cash for smaller amounts and cashier cage for larger ticket amounts. Was very popular with the pop-up tents that were prevalent until permanent brick and mortar casino's were built. A very large casino in So-Cal is still under tents and attached buildings together.

Only certain games will work with the 17 mains, and those games won't work with other mains if I remember right, but then my memory is fading(but not too fast I hope). It is possible the 17 mains don't support a hopper/coin handling, but perhaps a printer? Then again I may be way off track.

Oh crap...seriously?? So even though some of his games are the same game as Ballys (Triple Trouble slot, for instance), they are NOT going to work with Bally Mains??? Wow....good to know, good to know!

Shoot! I hope my games work. I have ordered new mains and graphic chips from a reputable vendor, who seems familiar with this United Coin machine. I hope there's a chance my games will still work. I don't see how it would affect the games?
Thanks Ricker, for the information. That adds some huge pieces to this puzzling slot that I almost wish I had not bought... but I will press on!
I wonder if Bally manufactured this game per United Coin specs?

Got my new mains and new graphic chips... did a full clear. All the proper settings appeared on the screen. Did everything.
BUT... no games are recognized.

Well I've spent an hour and a half changing settings while looking at old NLG posts (MUCH easier to navigate on the old site) and new NLG posts in an attempt to figure out why my machine won't recognize the games.
Nothin!
I have new mains, new graphic chips and a new bally game. I'd think if this United Coin Machine Bally had special games, then it WOULD have recognized the new "Moo Money" I bought but it didn't.
The only other thing I did was to put all the United Coin chips back in, along with the Moo Money. Machine works as it did when I bought it (w/o recognizing my new hopper) but WON'T recognize Moo Money.
So... I'm lost here. I REALLY tried to look up stuff before coming back here...
Nevertheless, here I am. Can anyone help? Hey ... I even donated $25! I feel like this site has DIED since the change over!

I am thinking it's a locked jurisdiction eprom. In your photo of options there is no choice for jurisdiction, or am i missing something?

Also, that debug chip was never suppose to leave the Bally lab.

I was informed by a retired Bally programmer.

It is used to set a secret number into the RAM chip so the board will work if a new RAM chip was installed.

A regular clear chip will clear the board and allow you to do setup.

That's the photo before I got the new mains. The "new" set up menu included jurisdiction and all the other settings. I can set everything properly but... the machine won't recognize any games at all.

(I wish SPELL CHECK WOULD WORK HERE... Definitely MISS the ease of the OLD NLG)

Yes multiple times... they aren't showing up at all. If I put the original United Coin mains and graphic chips back in, the 8 games all show up and I can enable them all. When I put in my new Bally mains and graphic chips... do a full clear, configure everything, no games show... just empty boxes.

Just a suggestion if you want. Call Larry at 702-363-9998 and arrange to have your board sent to him.

I ran into this a couple of years ago where the game chips were linked to a specific set of mains and changing the mains made the games disappear.

Larry may have enough games chips to repopulate your board with the same games you have now but will work with "normal" mains.

What's strange is that when I put in the new game (Moo Money) that I bought with the "standard" Bally mains and graphic chips, it also isn't recognized. But if I put the old United Coin mains and graphic chips - the games that came with the machine DO come up, but the Moo Money does NOT come up. So I'm wondering if it's something else... or perhaps the Moo Money chip is corrupt?

Are you clearing the board with a clear chip and not a debug chip every time you change the mains and/or graphics chips?

Yes I am.
I do have a new game chip on the way. This may help determine if it's just a corrupt game chip and will also determine if my existing games only will work with a United Coin machine.

Okay the verdict is in... my new "Moo Money" was just a bad chip. The vendor sent a new one and it works! BUT none of the other games are recognized so, it is the case that Ricker and Doyson summized: the United Coin chips only work with UC mains. Just for fun, I put in the old graphic chips and got the same result... Moo Money worked and other games did now. I'd love to know the theory behind the games being different... if anyone knows. I just don't understand a lot about this machine.
My next question and I'm changing the subject a bit... is on settings, again. I have all the initial settings but there a bunch that come up on the screen, once it's cleared, that make no sense to me. They come up automatically on the screen and prompt for denomination settings. I just want my machine to be .25 but it asks about credit amount for each game, and total number of this and that... lost!
BUT for now, I'll wait until I order my replacement games.
For now, though... I finally have a working coin-in machine that spits out quarters!

Okay I finally have a mostly working Game Maker with multiple games! And I now have 9 useless United Coin game chips.

Just a follow up here. The game is working great. The problem was that when I had replaced the United Coin mains to Bally mains, all the games had to be replaced from "United Coin" to the regular Bally games as well.

To enable the games with the United coin mains 17â€™s (V7M100005305-17) when it comes up â€œ disabledâ€ go to the setup menu ( open door and use jackpot reset) â€œturn on/off games â€œ you will see all games enabled not grayed out but turn off a couple and turn them back on and and exit the menu and the â€œ disableâ€ will be gone and the bill validator arrows will be green ....
