Title: Intro and P&M coin poker pcb ID/troubleshooting help
Post by: roobliz on July 17, 2020, 06:33:22 AM
Hello NLF members! Quick intro. Took electronics in college, ended up a car mechanic so this is a hobby for me.
I bought a NW poker machine. Cannot find the brand but pcb says Nevada Video Inc. 1984. Original power supply failed so I put in a replacement, I have a static, scrambled screen. I did the usual remove/replace socketed chips, swapped the Z80 processor with a known good one, no change. I’ll try and read the ROMs later but if I do have a bad ROM would anyone have the image file?

Machine is called Paradise Poker, no brand on it anywhere. I can put some pics up if necessary...help will be appreciated in IDing and getting this game working again. Thanks!

I did some more internet scouring and found that P&M coin is the maker, I’m assuming...I should add that I probed the cpu for clock and reset.
So after checking all ROMs (all verifies) I probed the Z80 reset line. I don’t have a schematic but the line is high at turn-on then goes low and stays there which I’m pretty sure explains the static screen. Any thoughts?
