Title: What type is this ??
Post by: yomusic on July 13, 2017, 09:54:25 AM
I want to buy a IGT slotmachine but I don't know if this is a IGT S+
The reason why I'm asking this is that the machine has an error when starting up. I have some reset software.

A picture from further back would be more helpful, but I'd bet it's an M slot

I want to buy a IGT slotmachine but I don't know if this is a IGT S+ .....

It is not an S+, the S+ doesn't have a card cage like that for circuit board mounting.

How about posting a photo of the entire machine, from the front?

Also, there is usually an idplate on the side of the machine that has the pull handle, if it is there it will give the name of the manufacturer.

I'm considering buying this car, can anyone tell me more about it?   :garfield:

The seller has posted 2 more pic's. Maybe this clears a little ?
The buttons and the glass plate are in France language.

Much better photos!  I can't identify it but it is very clean looking. Perhaps someone else here has an idea of the model and mfr. Can you ask the seller to post a photo of the idlate, usually mounted somewhere on the outside of the cabinet.

Yep, looks like an M slot, can't guarantee it, but looks like one. Very nice machines IF you can find parts. Not working it wouldn't be worth much

I should say that if it's verified IGT, then it's an M slot. What country is it from? Buttons are in a foreign language

I don't think its an IGT machine at all,  M and M+ had boards similar to S and S+  almost looks like some sort of Williams, never saw a machine like that.

I agree with Jim. I had a "M" and I think the cage was above the reels in the top box. Most hateful machine I ever tried to work on. Gave up.  Definitely not IGT "M". Reels slide out like Bally EM's did and cage is above reels. Suspect Williams too.

Maybe a Summit then?

The VFD  (dot matrix) is a puzzler. Doesn't look like a Summit Systems or anything. Summit coin LTD. didn't have that, but the TDC (Takasago Distributing Company) did. But would be the nicest TDC I've ever seen.     Board fits like some of the TDC's but a much different setup otherwise. Maybe a pic of the board would help. But I'm guessing it would be a mystery too.

The OP lives in Netherlands, so it may be an unknown or uncommon machine to us, made by a manufacturer over there.

He said IGT, maybe it was made by them or a contractor for them in Europe. I wouldn't think he'd state IGT just because he could. Who knows...

Wish we could see a photo of the idplate, that might clear up some of the questions.

Not sure he wants to buy it if the mpu board is missing, unless the seller or someone else he knows about has them available. He mentioned it gives an error message on power-up. The lockable card cage is where they would put the mpu with software, so without it there would definitely be no operation. The S+ mpu board we are used to seeing wouldn't work, it has 2 large connectors that are spaced apart by a few inches. On this machine the motherboard/interconnect board behind the card cage looks like it has one large connector and nearby it has a smaller connector.

Here I am again. Seller is back from holidays. I've posted more pictures of the inside and the manufacturesplate.
The error code on the machine is: or n cas ? Maybe the digits display has a defect.

I see on the back of the door, it has an error code list. I can't enlarge and read them though, they get too blurry. I also see above that on the back of the display module, buttons to clear errors, test button etc. May of 2000 is a fairly new machine. And it's clean! I don't know what to tell you, I doubt if any of us will know much about it. The whole error code could just be a dead battery. It's going to be a gamble. I looked in the forum topics and there was a couple of references to Orion machines but no follow ups.

If it's really cheap then buy it and start a project. As stated above, replace batteries first and go from there. Do internet searches on the company and see if they are still around to offer programming help or whatever. We don't have a lot of info here on that brand, but that doesn't mean there isn't info out there. Talk to casino techs in your area if there are any

We tried already to find anything on the net about this machine but no results. But thanks for the info and help. The battery might be changed first.
