Title: Alpha 1 V32 game change questions
Post by: dailey on January 26, 2019, 11:25:26 AM

I'm trying to learn more about the Alpha 1 V32 and what it takes to change games. I understand the process of clearing ram, installing software and setting up the menu. Are there any hardware concerns or chips that need changing, assuming the software is alpha 1 compatible ?
If for example I had two favorite games that I swap quite frequently and an extra brainbox on hand, could I dedicate a brain box to a game and just swap it out, avoiding the need for a ram clear and menu setup each time ?

I noticed that some of the V32 cabinets for Roulette have only 3 player buttons. Could this be an issue if you installed a different game ?

The mpu "marries" the backplane, so the only way to have a game on the spare mpu and be able to switch back and forth is to also switch the backplane back and forth.  The alpha setups are easy enough where it's not a big deal to just clear and install game.  If you get the ez-bet panel (the one with the big oval repeat bet button), you should be good for any alpha 1 v32 game.
