Title: Bally S5500 blows deck bulbs
Post by: slcjeeper on January 16, 2020, 02:41:51 PM
Has anyone come across the issue of a Bally S5500 blowing the deck bulbs and only the deck bulbs? The reel glass bulbs (insert coin, coin accepted, denomination) work fine. One day during play all the deck lights went out and with a bulb removed I read the voltage as 51.4. The Reel Glass bulbs measure 7.5 which tells me the power source is good.

To be thorough I've verified the door harness from bulb to Back Plane J14 Door I/O harness is good. I pulled the back plane and front and back checks good. The ISO transformer is good and the power supply is good.

Any ideas????  :Scratch-Head:

Super old post, but I think the power for the bulbs is AC, not DC.    Set your meter to AC and see what you get.

Fixed long ago. Turned out AC was getting into the circuit.
