I sold my Alpha 1 a long time ago. With it went the TITO board in it. What did the Bally TITO cable look like? Was it just a Male / Female serial cable or what it something else? I totally forgot and can't seem to find what one looks like anywhere.
Thanks!

Ah I just found it. Thanks to whomever wrote this..

Was this from one of the Marc Davis documents? Would love to see the full PDF if you know where to find it.

See attached pictures for Alpha tito cable wiring
Have a good day,

Hi Wayne, thanks for the pictures. What is that black connector called? I'll need to order one since I need to build my own harness. And am I correct in thinking I won't need the serial connector since I'm using an Arduino?

Even if you are using arduino, you still need an RS-232 to TTL converter. The bally interface is RS-232, so you either need an arduino RS232 shield, or an adapter wired up.

...what Rick said!
The Arudino is 5V logic, normal RS232 is around 13v.
The serial shield takes care of that (and some other things) for you.

Thanks, guys! I definitely learned something new today regarding the serial communication. BTW, looks like the connector in the first pic is just referred to as "latching 5 pin" online. I guess I'll order some parts and I should be all set!

Ok, just to review:
Arduino --> RS-232/TTL converter DB9 --> DB9 --> 5-pin latching connector (https://www.usdigital.com/products/accessories/connectors/con-fc5/?q=CON-FC5-26) --> backplane?
