Bally Alpha 2 Pro V32/22 - Spin Rebet button
« on: February 10, 2020, 05:08:24 AM »
I have the problem with my Bally Alpha 2 Pro V32/22 that the button (spin rebet on I-Deck panel) works partly at the beginning (on different games) and then after a couple of minutes it doesn't work anymore. I have already replaced the button and measured the cable where it goes on the board and it looks ok. Does anyone have any idea what it could be?

Have you tested the button in the diagnostic screen when it is not working?  If it doesn't register there, it could be a grounding issue with the player button panel connection.  Try using another ground from somewhere else to see if it fixes it.  If it does, then you probably have a backplane issue.

I have now been able to identify the problem, it always occurs when the battery on the backplane needs to be replaced. I have a new backplane in the meantime and it behaves exactly the same.

Now I‘ve a new problem with the same Setup. After change the Backplane Battery (because the Button doesn’t work anymore) and new Setup the Game the message „Door Monitor Battery Fail“ shows. I‘ve replaced the battery two times and make also an factory reset and new install from the OS, Game and also a Clear before new Setup. I‘ll check the Battery Socket in the next few days. Does someone has the same issue and could point me to the right direction for solving this problem?

I have already replaced the battery CR2032 twice with a new one without success. I am now removing the backboard to see if the battery holder has a contact problem.

The problem was with the battery socket and luckily on the front side, so I didn't have to remove the whole backboard. Thanks to all, Problem solved.
