Title: 809 coin accepted light
Post by: Notslotenough on February 22, 2023, 12:33:12 PM
Have an 809 that all lights working, turn my back for a moment and the "coin accepted" is out. I checked the bulb, checked the coin switch, checked and cleaned all switches on the reel mech, followed the yellow/black from the lamp holder to the switch ,checked the plugs and the wire bundle near the upper door hinge.
Any other areas to check?

There was a short in the bundle that has been repaired and the fuse replaced

coin accepted lamp goes thru a coin relay switch and a payout relay switch, so reel mech and hopper plug along with front door connections are involved.

if the insert coin and winner paid lights work, the payout relay switch and hopper plug connections are ok.

definitely check the coin relay switch with the yellow/black 38-1 and grey/red 91-2 wires.  If you have a jumper, jump those two wires on the coin relay and see if the accepted light is stable.  If not, the plug connections to the lamp or the lamp socket are flaky ... or the blue wire 20 connection to the lamp socket has an issue.
